Amanda and Greg‘s wedding is coming up next, but in the meantime I wanted to chat about bridal attire trends. Because I love bridal fashion. It is my fav.
And it’s a good excuse to pour over wedding dresses.

I have my favorite designers (Ines Di Santo, Maggie Sottero, Enzoani, Pronovias, and about 500 more…), and then sometimes I get to find new designers that are even more amazing than the last. You can never have too many favorite bridal gown designers, I always say.
…And then I have my favorite bridal salons in Dallas/Fort Worth (Bliss Bridal, The Bridal Boutique of Lewisville, Elizabeth’s Bridal in Hurst, Stanley Korshak). They constantly amaze me with their immaculate selections of wedding and bridesmaids’ gowns.
{Lindsay’s Pronovias gown. Love.}
I have been loving the movement away from the plain strapless dress that was repeated and revolved from 1995-2010. Basically my exact wedding dress (plain, strapless, very pretty and the silk satin material that I call yummy, but I now wish I had one of these pretty ruffly dresses with extra layers or rosettes, or just something with a little more personality).
The new strapless gowns have been amazing lately: ruffles, layers, rosettes (like I just said), feminine-and-pretty-fluff, bling-but-not-in-a-cheesy-way, flowers-made-out-of-material, sparkly belts to accent a tiny waist, and {my FAVORITE thing right now} bows (see above and further down below).
The rosettes.
Here is Ali’s Ines Di Santo from Stanley Korshak (ohmygoodness, two of my favorites!).
Also notice the perfectly-put-together selection of gowns that her House Party and Bridesmaids wore. Gorgeous. Love the color palette.
The non-strapless gowns have also been making their way onto the scene, and I have loved every single one. Especially the ones with lace sleeves. Or the backless ones. Or the ones with transparent organza that goes over the shoulders as see-through straps/sleeves and are SOOOOO pretty.
Like Joy’s.
Eeek! And look at the bow!
Melissa’s Ines Di Santo gown was perfect for a beach destination wedding. Lace sleeves, backless, and BEAUTIFUL. Not at all what some people think of as a “casual gown for a beach wedding” (who wants casual on your wedding day??).
Here’s a closer view of the lace sleeves.
Lindsay’s gown is another beach wedding gown that I am in love with.
Notice the bow on the front.
Also, the way it fell to the ground was absolute perfection.
As if it wasn’t already perfect enough, she wore these pretties to match. It doesn’t even matter that the front of these sandals are also adorable (and are perfect for those who don’t want to wear heels on the wedding day), YOU ONLY NEED TO KNOW THAT THERE ARE BOWS ON THE BACK.
That’s all you need to know.
A close-up. And, I must mention that her mom’s MOB dress was simply divine.
Dallas had more of the lush rosettes I was talking about. LOVE.
Ooh! And this one too.
And here is Ashley’s gown, which has waterfall-like ruffly layers throughout.
Here are some flowers made out of material (sorry-I don’t know what else to call them) all over the bodice, and then they sort-of sprinkle their way down onto the skirt of the gown. AHHHHHH! So pretty.
Another view of this dress is here with Morgan’s also-gorgeous bridesmaids’ gowns (one-shoulder gowns are another thing that are huge right now).
The House Party got to select their own black dresses, which is always an excellent option. They all looked so pretty together.
Here is Paige’s backless gown. WITH a bow.
AND lace sleeves.
AND a flower made out of material. She really had it all.
These see-through sleeves are to-die-for.
And then, just because you really need to consider this:
TUTUS FOR FLOWER GIRLS’ DRESSES(!!!).
I know.
